PORTAGE PARK — O.A. Thorp Scholastic Academy will host a Winterfest celebration to raise money for the Portage Park magnet school.

Proceeds from the event will be used by the Friends of Thorp, a parent group, to upgrade computer labs and make outdoor beautification improvements at the school, 6024 W. Warwick Ave.

Crafters are invited to participate in the event, and can register online. The fee is $25, and a table will be provided for $10, organizers said. Students can reserve a table for $5.

Holiday wreaths and greenery as well as decorations created by Thorp students will be sold, organizers said.

Donations of two to three dozen holiday treats to be sold during a planned cookie walk are also needed. Bakers can sign up online, organizers said. Items that contain nuts should be clearly marked. Trays can be dropped off between 2-4 p.m. Dec. 4 or between 9-10 a.m. Dec. 5.

Volunteers are needed, and can signup online.
