NEAR WEST SIDE — Ald. Jason Ervin (28th) and developers plan to update the community on the status of the IMD Gateway, a $300 million hotel project on the Near West Side.

Developers leading the Illinois Medical District development will update the community at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Chicago Hope Academy, 2179 W. Bowler St. in Tri-Taylor. Residents attending the meeting should enter the building from the parking lot off of Ogden Avenue.

Ervin also invited the community to weigh in on the project at a meeting in April.

In July 2014, the Illinois Medical District commission approved Gateway Development Partners to develop the $300 million hotel project, which includes plans for a 10-story, 225-room hotel on a nine acre site at 2020 W. Ogden Ave.
