3 Men Wanted for Attempted Luring in Dunning, Police Say

By Alex Nitkin | November 16, 2015 12:32pm | Updated on November 16, 2015 1:07pm

DUNNING — Police are looking for three men who they believe tried to lure a pair of young girls into their car by offering them candy, according to an alert released Monday.

Around 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 6, the girls were "practicing gymnastic moves" outside their home in the 3400 block of North Page Avenue when the men approached in a burgundy four-door SUV, police said.

When the man in the rear passenger seat yelled out the window "Do you want some candy?" the girls ran inside and told their father, who called 911, police said.

Police said the rear passenger was a white man in his 30s, but descriptions of the other men are unknown. The SUV has a "noticeable scratch marking" on its rear passenger-side door, according to the alert.

Anyone with information on the suspects or the incident is asked to call detectives at 312-744-8200.
