LOGAN SQUARE — A Vietnamese restaurant in Logan Square has been closed for more than a week over health code violations.

Banh Mi Baget, which opened in February at 2735 N. Milwaukee Ave., failed an inspection on Oct. 23, according to the city's data portal.

The business failed a second inspection Oct. 30 and its license was suspended.

This past weekend the business had posted its own hand-written sign covering up the bright green Chicago Department of Public Health sign on the front door.

The restaurant's own sign stated that the business was closed due to no hot water and that it will re-open soon.

As of Monday, the hand-written sign had been removed but the public health department "license suspended" sign remained.

Multiple calls to the business were not answered Monday.

Banh Mi Baget has six locations throughout the city specializing in banh mi and pho.

Although the business's own sign stated the issue was over hot water, the city health department's report stated the hot water issue was corrected before the Oct. 30 inspection.

A number of critical violations were reported during the second inspection including failing to properly refrigerate meat, eggs and seafood.
