Police Warn of Robberies Along Cicero in Chicago Lawn

CHICAGO — Police are asking residents of Chicago Lawn to be on the lookout after a string of robberies in the area.

There have been at least four robberies in the neighborhood since late October, according to a community alert police sent Thursday.

In the incidents, a group of robbers have been walking up to victims in the street and demanding or taking their property, police said.

The first robbery occurred on Oct. 28 at 7:10 p.m. in the 7600 block of South Cicero Avenue, police said. Another robbery occurred on that block at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

A robbery took place Monday at 3:50 p.m. in the 7500 block of South Pulaski Street, police said. Another robbery occurred Tuesday at 5:40 p.m. in the 7600 block of South Pulaski Street, police said.

Police have described the robbers as one black woman with two to four black men. The men are thought to be between 18 and 25 years old, police said. They do not have a physical description of the woman.
