ROSCOE VILLAGE — Police are looking for a man they suspect of stealing packages from the lobbies of apartment buildings in Bucktown and Roscoe Village, according to a notice they released Wednesday.

Twice in the last three weeks, police said, a man was recorded prying open the door of an apartment vestibule, reaching inside and making off with packages that had been delivered there.

The first incident occurred in Bucktown, in the 1800 block of North Winnebago Avenue, on Oct. 11, police said. The second theft occurred Oct. 23 in the 1900 block of West Diversey Parkway, in Roscoe Village.

Police described the suspect as a white man in his 40s, standing at about 5 feet 10 inches and weighing 190 pounds. He was recorded wearing a New York Yankees cap, a blue jacket and tan pants. At the time of both robberies he was carrying a black duffel bag.

Anyone with information on the suspect or the incidents is encouraged to call Area North detectives at 312-744-8263.
