PORTAGE PARK — Things are about to get spooky at Six Corners.

The shopping district centered around Irving Park Road and Cicero and Milwaukee avenues will be transformed into Halloween Headquarters with several all-ages events including a treasure hunt at surrounding businesses organized by the Six Corners Association.

Starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, ghouls and goblins can search for hidden treasure at 20 Six Corners businesses and take a picture with the crucial clue. The winner will take home a flat-screen television set, organizers said.

From noon to 5 p.m., a costume coven will take place at the Filament Theatre, 4041 N. Milwaukee Ave. Admission is $5.

Attendees can make a mask with instructors from Inside Out Art Studios, watch horror movies, hear ghost stories, play spooky games and roast weenies.

From 5 to 6 p.m., a costume contest will take place, and the winners will take home gift certificates to local businesses.

The Filament Theatre Ensemble will perform "Fog Island," a family-friendly tale of an Irish fishing village swathed in a spooky fog — and the two kids who take matters into their own hands to solve the mystery, at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Tickets are $14 to $20 and are available online at filamenttheatre.org or at 773-270-1660.
