60-Year-Old Portage Park Cyclist Killed in West Humboldt Park Crash

WEST HUMBOLDT PARK — A cyclist was killed after being struck by a vehicle in West Humboldt Park Monday morning, authorities said.

The 60-year-old cyclist was struck at the intersection of Kolin Avenue and LeMoyne Street at 9:50 a.m., according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The victim, Enrique Zamora of the 4800 block of West Addison Street in Portage Park, was pronounced dead at 10:49 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Police said the driver of the vehicle was not injured and the Major Accidents Investigation Unit was looking into the crash.

As of Monday afternoon no tickets or charges had been filed against the driver.

LeMoyne and Kolin are both one-way streets where the crash occurred.

There are stop signs in both directions at the intersection.
