HYDE PARK — President Barack Obama will stop at his Kenwood home on Tuesday night, but it seems unlikely that it's to catch early trick-or-treaters.

Obama will be in Chicago on Tuesday to address the International Association of Chiefs of Police annual conference and to attend a political fundraiser.

The president will address the conference of more than 14,000 public safety officials and experts, which on Saturday talked about a White House task force’s recommendation to eliminate arrest or ticket quotas and to institute community policing as a standard practice.

Sixty-six protesters were arrested outside the conference on Saturday when 100 activists marched to the conference to draw attention to policing strategies that were characterized as discriminatory.

It’s unclear yet what the president will address at the conference, but the stop is part of a cross-country trip by the president to call for changes to the criminal justice system.

Obama is expected to attend a political fundraiser Tuesday evening after the conference.

Guests at the event hosted by Robbie Robinson, managing director of BDT Capital Partners, are being asked to contribute $33,400, according to an invitation. Proceeds benefit the president’s campaign committee and the Democratic National Committee.

The president is expected to sleep at his Kenwood home, 5046 S. Greenwood Ave., his first night at home since February.
