BOYSTOWN — The 19th Annual Northalsted Halloween Parade, this year themed "Halloween Magic on Northalsted," will kick off at 4 p.m. on Halloween, organizers announced.

Starting at noon on Oct. 31, participants will be able to register for the parade and subsequent costume contest.

Following "family festivities" and a "pet parade," the main event is set to last about 90 minutes, until about 5:30 p.m. The parade will begin on Halsted Street at Belmont Avenue, and it will end at Addison Street.

Winners of the costume contest will be announced around 6 p.m., judged in four categories: "scariest," "drag," "group" and "original." The street will re-open to traffic at 8 p.m., according to organizers.
