UPTOWN — This is not a joke: Have you seen this chicken?

Her owners are looking for her and fear the worst has happened.

Sylvie the chicken went missing from the 4600 block of North Dover Street Thursday and her owners would appreciate help finding the clucky little hen who owners describe as "possibly the meanest chicken ever," according to a post on Neighborhood Square.

The hilarious note explains more:

"Have you seen Sylvie, our missing chicken? Yes, you read that correctly. We recently adopted two Wyandotte hens to join our small, elderly flock — currently residing in our backyard on the 4600 block of Dover," it begins.

The poster is very aware of how silly the plea may sound: "Moxie and Sylvie were settling in, when, last night as it was time to head for the coop (go on, make your jokes here), Sylvie could not be found."

What to do if you have a clue about her whereabouts? We couldn't reach the poster as of Thursday night, but the Neighborhood Square thread is open for comments.

"We will happily retrieve her, should you spot her. If you have evidence that Sylvie has met an unfortunate end, we would be grateful to know that, as well," the post explained.

"We would like her back, even though she is possibly the meanest chicken ever hatched. Thanks."

Please let your neighbors know if you've seen this (ahem) jerk chicken.
