River North Robberies Lead to Police Warning

CHICAGO — Police are asking River North neighbors to be on the lookout after a string of robberies in the neighborhood.

Three robberies have occurred in the area since Oct. 6, according to a community alert police sent Monday. In each case, one or more robbers approached their victims and robbed them, sometimes by force.

The first incident was in the late evening hours of Oct. 6 in the 400 block of North State Street, police said.

Another robbery occurred that night, this one in the 600 block of North State Street, police said.

The latest robbery happened in the early morning hours of Oct. 10 in the 500 block of North State Street, according to police.
