LINCOLN SQUARE — When it comes to treating seasonal allergies, local honey is the bee's knees.

Learn more about how bees benefit our health and our ecosystem at a discussion hosted by Swedish Covenant Hospital's Dr. Tony Vancauwelaert, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Thursday, 5215 N. California Ave., sixth floor.

Vancauwelaert not only practices family medicine, he's a beekeeper, and his talk will include information about how humans can help our insect friends thrive.

The event includes a trip to the hospital's rooftop beehives, timed to coincide with the bees' bedtime. The evening concludes with a honey tasting and everyone will go home with a jar of local honey.

Space is limited and registration is required (click here).
