UPTOWN — Uptown and Andersonville will both be booming with fun events for the community to participate in this weekend.

From the 13th annual Andersonville Arts Weekend to the monthly musical shenanigans of Uptown Saturday Nights — and don't forget about Brian Babylon at the Green Mill — there should be something for everyone.

Here's a quick look at some of the happenings:

Andersonville Arts Weekend: The work of more 90 artists will be on display at this annual celebration of local artist and designers. The 13th annual Arts Weekend will feature self-guided art walks, a variety of performances and events and the beloved Night of 100 pARTies, an evening of art and receptions on Clark street, according to its website. The massive schedule of happenings is available here. Clark Street. All weekend long.

Uptown Saturday Nights: The monthly celebration has it all this weekend — free brownies, live music and a "Thriller" Flash Mob — but don't get lost, it's happening all over the 'hood. The ode to M.J. will occur at Halloween Kick-Off at Buttercup Park, 4901 N. Sheridan Road, from 4-6 p.m. The first 50 residents will be treated to brownies from Uptown Brownies, and performers from CircEsteem will be on hand to teach tightwire skills. At 2 p.m., walking tours of the 'hood will commence at Shake, Rattle and Read, 4812 N. Broadway, taking place every hour until 5 p.m. And at 8 p.m., Rio Bamba will perform at Pho Viet, 4941 N. Broadway. More details here.

See "Hoist" at the Alley Stage: The play follows Skyler, after her stint in Afghanistan, as "she struggles to gain control over her present life" to no avail as she bartends her nights away. When a familiar face appears in the bar, she realizes there is no escaping the past. The play will run at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $25. Alley Stage, 4147 N. Broadway.

Brian Babylon at Paper Machete: Paper Machete is a weekly live show at the Green Mill where "comedians, journalists and other storytellers comment on current events, pop culture and American manners." Storytellers this weekend include Brian Babylon, the self-proclaimed "king of Bronzeville" and panelist for NPR's "Wait Wait ... Don't Tell Me" along with Dominizuelan, Katie McVay, Daniel Sharr and Ike Holter. The Green Mill, 4802 N. Broadway. Free.

Watch the epic love story of Roger and Chaz Ebert: The Black Ensemble Theater's "The Black White Love Play" tells the tale of the smitten film critic and his attorney wire. The Black Ensemble Theater, 4450 N. Clark St. 8 p.m. Friday. 3 and 8 p.m. Saturday. Tickets can be bought here.
