CHICAGO — After a Cubs fan reportedly swapped letters from a "LETS GO BUCS" sign to spell out "LETS GO CUBS" at a building near the Pittsburgh Pirates' PNC Park, the Bucs fans have struck back.
The sign now reads "LETS GOAT CUBS," a reference to the so-called Curse of the Billy Goat that some say is to blame for the Cubs' more-than-century-old World Series drought.
The original "LETS GO BUCS" message was spelled out in large letters across 10 separate windows, cheering on the Pirates, aka the Bucs.
On Wednesday, the day the Pirates host the Cubs for a one-game Wild Card showdown, the sign had a slight alteration: "LETS GO CUBS"
The change was reported by Sun-Times reporter Rummana Hussain, who Tweeted that a Cook County sheriff's deputy did it and asked her to share it with the world.
