BEVERLY — A group of three teenage boys was robbed at 9 p.m. on Sunday in the 9100 block of South Winchester Avenue, according to a spokesman with the Chicago Police Department.

The victims — all 16-year-old boys — were walking on the block in North Beverly when they were approached by people armed with a gun who robbed them of their phones and cash, police said.

The robbers fled in a gray, two-door car, which was later pulled over by police responding to the robbery. Four people were inside, and all were detained by police, the spokesman said.

Three of the people in the car were identified by the victims and arrested, including a pair of juveniles and Henry K. Jones, 20, of the 8800 block of South Honore Street in Auburn Gresham, police said.

The fourth person in the car was a 17-year-old. He was arrested after further investigation led to the discovery of the victims' phones, as well as a handgun, inside his home. He was charged with one felony count of unlawful use of weapon and three counts of armed robbery, police said. Police would not release his name.

Jones and the two juveniles — 14- and 16-year-old boys — were charged with three counts of armed robbery, according to police.

Police had no further details on the robbery.
