WEST RIDGE — It's just been one of those weeks.

That's why we're showing you three ways to get in some much-needed rest and relaxation (and recreation) in West Ridge this weekend.

Learn Meditation For Free: If it's been a stressful week (or even a cooly calm week and you'd like to keep the good vibes flowing) — then this free meditation class is for you. Held at the Northtown Branch Library, 6435 N. California Ave., between 3-4 p.m., the introductory class practices the art of Mantra Meditation, a type of meditation "passed down through the ages by an unbroken line of fully-realized spiritual teachers." It promises to be a stress and anxiety melter.

Fall In Love With October At The Harvest Festival: The Chicago Park District is bringing a bit of the country to the big city with a Fall-themed Harvest Festival this Sunday at Indian Boundary Park, 2500 W. Lunt Ave. from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m.. Just about everything any harvest-festival-goer could want is there: tattoos, a petting zoo, inflatable things, pony rides, a pumpkin patch, photo station and more. Each activity is between $2-$4 (cash only, please), and tickets will be sold up to 30 minutes before close.

Celebrate The Arts With A Street Fest: October is Chicago Artists Month. On Sunday, Music House will hold a free arts festival from 1-4 p.m. on Devon Avenue from Sacramento to Mozart. The family-friendly event is the perfect spot to give your best shot at an instrument, try a dance class or even work on a collaborative painting.
