BACK OF THE YARDS — The Plant will launch an indoor farmers market for the fall and winter on Saturday.

Beginning this weekend, The Plant will host the market in its lobby at 1400 W. 46th St. the first Saturday of every month from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The sustainable food production facility will sell homegrown mushrooms, greens, kombucha and more.

After shopping, visitors will be able to see what's happening at the plant with tours that begin at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Each month The Plant will roll out special events, including cooking demonstrations and composting workshops. In November, Sergio Reyes — owner and head chef at Pilsen-based DeColores — will lead a cooking demonstration.

Here's a look at the vendors selling goods this weekend:

Anarchy Organic

Bike a Bee

Four Letter Word Coffee

The Salty Prawn

Rumi Spice

Temo's Tamales

Illinois Link cards will be accepted at the market. For more information, visit PlantChicago.org/market.
