BRIDGEPORT — What are Bridgeport’s boundaries? It seems borders are in the eye of the beholder.

A few weeks ago, DNAinfo launched an app allowing readers to show where they think their neighborhood borders are. After thousands of readers submitted drawings, we wanted to show where there was broad agreement — and disagreement — about where each begins and ends.

Here’s how readers drew Bridgeport's borders:

The majority of readers pegged Bridgeport's southern border as Pershing Road, running from South Wallace to the tip of the Chicago River's South Branch.

Some readers drew the neighborhood's western boundary at South Ashland Avenue, but others believe Bridgeport stretches all the way to Western.

On the north end of the map, most readers use Archer Avenue as Bridgeport's north border. Others drew the line as far north as West Cermak Road.

The neighborhood's eastern boundaries remain largely undecided: While most readers drew the line at South Canal Street, others stretched Bridgeport to South LaSalle Street.
