ROSCOE VILLAGE — Now's the time to buy that bike or book you've been eyeballing.

On Thursday, during the seventh annual Shop for Schools, participating businesses in Roscoe Village will donate 20 percent of purchases to the school of a customer's choosing.

Nearly 20 shops — offering everything from clothing to home accessories and pet supplies to stationery — are taking part in the event. Click here for the list of retailers.

The Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce will match funds to the five schools receiving the most donations, up to $3,000 for the top school. Click here for the list of participating schools.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The majority of the shops are located between 2000 and 2300 W. Roscoe St. The lone exception is Sam & Willy's at 3405 N. Paulina St.
