MORGAN PARK — Parenting expert Dr. Tina Payne Bryson will speak from 7-8:30 p.m. Oct. 22 at Morgan Park Academy.

Bryson is the co-author of "The Whole-Brain Child," which she wrote with Dr. Daniel J. Siegel, a neuropsychiatrist and author of the bestselling book "Mindsight."

"No-Drama Discipline" is the latest project by the duo. The book seeks to demystify meltdowns and aggravation by explaining the science of how a child’s brain is wired and how it matures.

Organizers said Bryson will highlight the link between a child’s neurological development and the way a parent reacts to misbehavior, providing an effective, compassionate roadmap for dealing with tantrums, tensions, and tears — without causing a scene.

The event at 2153 W. 111th St. in Morgan Park is free to attend. Online registration is required at www.beverlyyogacenter.com.
