CHICAGO — A man is dead and six others are hurt following shootings that occurred across the city between Wednesday morning and Thursday morning, police said.

The man, 48, was shot multiple times in Burnside late Wednesday, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

Earlier, a 45-year-old man was shot in Little Village, Pacheco said.

• In the most recent non-fatal shooting, around 9:10 p.m., a 26-year-old man was walking in an alley near the 5100 block of South Sawyer Avenue in Gage Park when a white SUV pulled up and someone inside shot at him, Pacheco said.

An acquaintance drove the man to Saint Bernard Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition with gunshot wounds in his groin and left leg, Pacheco said. He was later transferred to Stroger Hospital.

• Around 8:30 p.m., a truck driver was shot on the Bishop Ford Expressway near 130th Street, according to local media reports. The Illinois State Police could not be reached for comment Thursday morning.

• Around 7 p.m., Pacheco said, a 21-year-old man was standing in the 7100 block of South King Drive in Greater Grand Crossing when a red Ford Escort pulled up and someone inside fired shots.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where his condition stabilized after he was treated for gunshot wounds in his left arm and right leg, Pacheco said.

• At 3:45 p.m., an 18-year-old man was standing at the corner of Potomac Avenue and Menard Avenue in Austin when someone walked up and shot at him, Pacheco said.

The man was taken to Loyola Hospital, where his condition stabilized after he was treated for gunshot wounds in his hip and back, Pacheco said.

• Around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, a 27-year-old man walked into Roseland Hospital with a gunshot wound in his lower back, Pacheco said.

He had been walking in the 11800 block of South Harvard Avenue in West Pullman when someone shot at him from a passing car, Pacheco said.

The man was listed in good condition, Pacheco said.
