HYDE PARK — Michael Sheehan doesn’t make presidents, but he makes men who look and act like presidents.

Sheehan will be at the University of Chicago on Sept. 29 to explain how he coached Bill Clinton, Barack Obama and others to look presidential while giving the State of the Union address.

The communications strategist has been behind the coaching a calm and confident demeanor for at least one Democratic candidate in every presidential debate since 1988.

He will talk about how he became the go-to guy for corporate executives from J.P. Morgan Chase, Nike, Lockheed Martin and others who must brave the media spotlight during corporate takeovers, Congressional hearings and initial public offerings.

Sheehan’s talk for the Institute of Politics is free and open to the public at 6 p.m. Sept. 29 in room 21 of Saleh Hall, 5757 S. University Ave.

Space is limited and seats can be reserved at the event website.
