CHICAGO — One man was killed and five people wounded in shootings since Tuesday morning, police say.

A 28-year-old man was killed when he was shot in the back of his head Tuesday afternoon in Chatham, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

In non-fatal shootings:

• At 2:10 a.m. Wednesday, a 19-year-old man was walking in the 5100 block of South Winchester Avenue in Back of the Yards when someone got out of a car and fired at him, Pacheco said. The man was taken to Holy Cross Hospital and was in good condition, Pacheco said.

The man is a documented gang member, police said.

• At 1 a.m., a 28-year-old man was walking in the 1700 block of West 77th Street in Auburn Gresham when he heard shots and felt pain, Pacheco said. He was shot in his leg and taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital, where he was in good condition, Pacheco said.

• At 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, a 17-year-old was walking on the sidewalk in the 600 block of South Homan Avenue in Garfield Park when he heard shots and felt pain, Pacheco said. He was shot in his right knee and his chest was grazed. He was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he was listed as "stable," Pacheco said.

• At 8:50 p.m., a 28-year-old woman was standing on the sidewalk in the 5900 block of West Madison Street in Austin when a group of men began to argue, Pacheco said. One of the men took out a gun and fired, and the woman was hit in her right ankle. She was taken to West Suburban Medical Center, where her condition was listed as "stable," Pacheco said.

• At 4:38 p.m., a 20-year-old man was outside in the 5000 block of West LeMoyne Street in Austin when someone came out of an alley, fired at him and then drove off in a car, Pacheco said. The man was shot in his left leg and taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition.

The victim is a documented gang member, police said.
