PULLMAN — As another harvest comes to an end, Cooperation Operation volunteers plan to celebrate with an end-of-the-season jam session under the "Terradome."

Folks have been clamoring for music under the Terradome, a dome made of bicycle wheels tied together with wire, ever since the structure was assembled in May as a raised garden bed that doubles as a small band shell.

During the growing season, the bicycle-wheel dome was nearly covered in zucchini and climbing vines. Now, folks at the Coop Op, that's the urban garden's nickname, say they're excited to get the Terradome rocking.

Vivana Gentry Fernandez-Pellon, the co-op's garden operations director, has envisioned the Terradome as a place for "potential rap battles" since Day 1.

Cooperation Operation co-founder Liz Nerat (center) adds an old bicycle wheel to a 20-foot wide dome that will be used to grow cucumber and squash vines and double as a stage for music performances.

At the open jam on Saturday, though, you don't have to be a rapper to take the stage.

Local musicians, poets, performance artists, storytellers, playwrights, dancers and even mimes are welcome, co-op organizers said.

The Cooperation Operation open jam starts at 6 p.m at the community garden, 652 E. 114th St.

People are encouraged to bring their own food and beverages. The event is pet friendly.
