Man Charged in Two West Town Armed Robberies

CHICAGO — A West Town man has been arrested and charged in connection with two recent armed robberies in the neighborhood, according to police.

Christopher Pratile, 30, of the 1400 block of North Ashland Avenue, has been charged with two counts of felony armed robbery after he robbed two people at gunpoint in early August, Chicago police said in a news release.

On Aug. 2, Pratile approached a 23-year-old woman in the 2100 block of West Huron Street around 11 p.m. and demanded her purse and cellphone, police said.

A week later, on Aug. 9, Pratile robbed a 38-year-old man of his wallet and cellphone in the 1600 block of West Cortez Street at 5 p.m., police said.

Pratile is due in bond court on Sept. 22, police said.
