CHICAGO — Officers with the Chicago Police Department opened fire during a foot chase early Saturday, but no one was hit, according to the department.

Officers were chasing a man in the 7800 block of South Ingleside Avenue in Greater Grand Crossing around 2:25 a.m. Saturday when the man pointed a gun at officers, according to Officer Jose Estrada, Chicago Police spokesman.

One of the officers involved in the chase then drew his gun and fired at the man, but no one was hit, Estrada said.

Police then arrested the man, 26, who had fled and pointed a gun at officers, Estrada said. A weapon was found on the man. Charges are pending, Estrada said.
