LOGAN SQUARE — An afternoon of Lucha Libre wrestling will be held in a Logan Square park on Saturday.

The outdoor wrestling event will feature more than a dozen masked wrestlers in the first-of-its-kind event in Unity Park. A temporary ring will be set up in the park for five matches including one tag-team matchup.

Lucha Libre is a form of professional wrestling that originated in Mexico and translates to "free fighting." Luchadores include Skayde Jr., Bandolero, Extasis, Mike Strong, Johnny Andrews, Montezuma, Bazooka and The French Cactus.

Local luchador Rick "The Janitor" Dunlop and his sister brought the idea of hosting an outdoor match to the Unity Park Advisory Council. Dunlop is a graduate of Logan Square-based Just Pro Wrestling school.

Admission to the event is free. During intermission, luchadores will demonstrate ring safety and wrestling techniques for kids.

There will be a raffle of signed autographed photos of wrestling stars such as Razor Ramon, X-Pac, Kevin Nash, Al Snow, Rhyno and Tommy Dreamer. There will also be a custom-made Lucha Libre mask donated by Chi Town Best Masks.

The event starts at 2 p.m. in Unity Park, 2636 N. Kimball Ave.
