HUMBOLDT PARK — Two men were hurt, one critically, in a shooting in Humboldt Park Wednesday morning, police said.

Around 5 a.m., five men were riding in a car in the 1100 block of North Washtenaw Avenue when they passed three men standing on the sidewalk, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The men on the sidewalk shouted gang slogans before shooting at the car, hitting the 19-year-old driver and the 20-year-old front passenger, Estrada said.

The men drove themselves to Norwegian Hospital, where the 20-year-old was in critical condition with a gunshot wound in his back, Estrada said.

The 19-year-old was in good condition with a graze wound in his forearm and wrist, Estrada said.

No one is in custody, Estrada said.
