CHICAGO — Police are warning Rogers Park merchants of burglars in the area who have been breaking into businesses and stealing cash.
Two neighborhood businesses were burglarized over the weekend after the robbers pried open doors and broke open the stores’ cash registers, police said in a crime alert.
A business in the 6200 block of North Western Avenue was broken into sometime between 11 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Saturday, police said.
Police said the robbers in that case were two Hispanic men in their 20s, one dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt and the other in a gray Chicago Bulls hooded sweatshirt.
Another business was broken into in the 2200 block of West Devon Avenue sometime between 9:15 p.m. Friday and 9:15 a.m. Saturday, police said. There is no description of the robbers in that case, police said.
Police are asking Rogers Park residents to report any suspicious people or activity in the area, specifically around a business’ closing time.
