CHICAGO — The women of the Chicago Bliss, a lingerie football team, are stars on the field and now they'll be stars on the TV.

A new reality show called "Pretty. Strong" will focus on eight Bliss' players on and off a the field. The Bliss is a Legends Football League team that plays at Toyota Park in suburban Bridgeview; they've won two consecutive championships and are vying for a third.

Alli Alberts, a dentist who lives in Old Town, will be among the stars of the show. Bliss players Jamie Barwick, Deena Fagiano, Heather Furr, ChrisDell Harris, Nneka Nwani, Yashi Rice and Chantell Taylor will also be showcased in "Pretty. Strong."

Legends Football League, formerly known as the Lingerie Football League, is famous for its scantily-clad, hard-tackling players. The women of the Chicago Bliss are athletes, doctors, artists and mothers, among other roles. They are not paid for playing for the team.

"It's pretty clear what [the league] is trying to spotlight," Alberts said, according to a May 13 story. "It's all very clear what's going on, but for me, it's giving me a platform to play and have a good time. And in some ways, this is a way to get people to watch the women's game."

The show premieres 9 p.m. Oct. 6 on Oxygen.
