CHICAGO — A 34-year-old man died after suffering multiple gunshot wounds in East Garfield Park early Saturday, police said.
The man was one of two shot while sitting in a parked car near the 2900 block of West Lexington Street at 4:10 a.m. when unknown offenders pulled up in a car and opened fire, according to Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.
The 34-year-old was shot in his chest and neck and was pronounced dead on the scene, Sedevic said.
The man was a known gang member, police said.
A 28-year-old man was also shot, suffering wounds to his neck and chest, Sedevic said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in stable condition.
No arrests have been made.
