CHICAGO — Nine people were wounded in gun violence across Chicago since Thursday morning, according to police.

That includes a 50-year-old-man who was shot in the wrist in a Pilsen alley early Friday morning, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

  • Most recently, a man in his 20s was shot in his chest in the 2800 block of West Filmore Street in Lawndale at 4:50 a.m., Sedevic said. The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition. No other details are known at this time, Sedevic said.
  • Two men were shot in Austin at 10:05 p.m. Thursday night, Sedevic said. A 19-year-old man suffered a graze wound to his back and was taken to West Suburban Hospital in good condition. A 20-year-old man was shot in his left arm and was taken to Loyola Hospital in stable condition, Sedevic said. Both men were standing outside in the 1500 block of North Linder Avenue when a group of men across the street opened fire, Sedevic said.
  • A 26-year-old man was shot in his head in the 6700 block of South Wabash Avenue in Park Manor around 9 p.m. Thursday, Sedevic said. The man was a backseat passenger in a car when an unknown man approached on foot and shot inside the car, Sedevic said. He was driven to St. Bernard Hospital then transported to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, Sedevic said.
  • A 48-year-old man was shot in the abdomen at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the 3400 block of West Lexington Street in Garfield Park, Sedevic said. The man was shot after two other men were arguing outside and one opened fire, Sedevic said. He was not the intended target, and he was taken to Mount Sinai in stable condition.
  • A 24-year-old man was shot in his foot and thigh and a 21-year-old man was grazed in his hip in the 6400 block of South Honore Street at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sedevic said. The two men were standing outside when a dark-colored car drove by and opened fire, Sedevic said. The 24-year-old was taken to Mount Sinai in good condition and the 21-year-old was taken and later released from Mount Sinai. Both victims are documented gang members, according to a police source.
  • A 31-year-old man was shot in his calf in the 3000 block of West Washington Street at 7:35 a.m. Thursday morning, Sedevic said. The man was walking when an unknown offender called out to him. The man fled, Sedevic said, and was shot in his calf. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition. Police said the man was being uncooperative with investigators and is a documented gang member.

No one is in custody for the shooting incidents, police said.
