MOUNT GREENWOOD — A property tax appeal seminar will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences in Mount Greenwood.

The free seminar at 3857 W. 111th St. will walk property owners through the property tax appeal process. Residents will be able to complete their paperwork on site and ask questions to staff from the Cook County Board of Review.

The board is currently accepting property tax appeal applications for homeowners in the 19th Ward for 2015 taxes — payable next year.

Filing an appeal is simple and can result in significant tax savings. Appeals cannot increase current property tax assessments, according to the organizers which include Cook County Board of Review Commissioner Larry Rogers and Ald. Matt O’Shea (19th).

All property owners are encouraged to attend the seminar and bring a recent tax bill or property index number in order to complete the paperwork.

For more information, visit the alderman's office at 10400 S. Western Ave. in Beverly or call 773-238-8766.
