CHICAGO — A man was killed and nine other men, including two men in their 70s, were wounded in shootings around the city since Monday morning, police said.

A 24-year-old man was shot to death and a 21-year-old man was hurt when they were stopped at a red light in Humboldt Park Monday night, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

A 76-year-old man was shot in his knee during an attemped robbery in Little Village Monday evening, police said.

Earlier that afternoon, Estrada said, a 25-year-old man was shot in his arm in Humboldt Park

• In the most recent non-fatal shooting, around 6 p.m. Monday afternoon, three men were hurt in Austin, police said.

Two men, 25 and 26, were driving in the 1100 block of North Cicero Avenue when two men walked up and shot at them, according to Officer Veejay Zala, a Chicago Police spokesman. A 42-year-old man who was working nearby was also shot, Zala said.

The two shooters fled westbound on Haddon Avenue, Zala said.

As of Tuesday morning all three men were in serious condition, Estrada said.

The 25-year-old was taken to Stroger Hospital with a gunshot wound in his upper body, Zala said. The 26-year-old was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with a wound in his head, Zala said, and the 42-year-old was taken to Loyola Hospital with a wound in his arm.

• Around 2 p.m. Monday, a 34-year-old man and a 71-year-old man were standing in the 4300 block of West 15th Street in North Lawndale when someone shot at them from a nearby alley, Estrada said.

Both men were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, Estrada said, where the 34-year-old was listed in serious condition with a gunshot wound in his chest, and the 71-year-old was in stable condition with a wound in his foot.

• About a half hour earlier, Zala said, police found an 18-year-old man with a gunshot wound in his abdomen in an alley in the 5100 block of South Lowe Avenue in Back of the Yards.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, Zala said.
