CHICAGO — Caitlyn Jenner will be the keynote speaker for the Chicago House Speaker Series Luncheon this fall.

The event will raise awareness for Chicago House, which provides housing for people impacted by HIV, AIDs and LGBTQ marginalization. It also houses the TransLife Center, which provides support for trans individuals. Jenner, formerly known as Bruce, has been recognized as an outspoken activist for transgender people since making it public that she is a trans woman in April.

The event "will be especially effective at highlighting the marginalization and suffering disproportionately experienced by transgender individuals," according to a news release about the Chicago House Speaker Series.

Jenner has received the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage and is an Olympic athlete. She is also the star of "I Am Cait," a show that documents her life after her transition.

The event is 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Hilton, 720 S. Michigan Ave. Individual tickets star at $200. For more information about tickets, call Tyler Lewis at 773-248-5200 ext. 304.
