Austin End-of-Summer Bash to Get Kids Excited for School

CHICAGO — Broader Urban Involvement and Leadership Development will hold an end-of-summer bash in Austin to get kids excited for school.

BUILD works to help at-risk youths "realize their educational and career potential" and contribute to their communities, according to its website. Those who attend the summer bash will meet some of the children who have been helped by by the group and learn about the projects it was involved in over the summer.

The party will also have relay races, face painting and soccer games, as well as raffles and music.

The party is noon-5 p.m. Friday at 5100 W. Harrison St.
