WICKER PARK — Not ready to go back indoors?  We understand. Here are a few ideas for keeping it simple and enjoyable without leaving the neighborhood this weekend.

Ride the Ferris Wheel, Meet Carnies:  After putting out a call for need-to-know tips on St. Helen's Carnival, "NerdGirl" weighed in on Neighborhood Square. "There are also carnie games in between the rides. I've always skipped them. They're really nice to the kids though, lifting them up on tables and stuff to give them a real chance or giving them free throws." The carnival runs all weekend, from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday; noon to 10 p.m. Saturday and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday.  At 2347 W. Augusta Blvd., between Western and Oakley.

Indulge in a Cheap Doughnut on Saturday:  Stan’s Donuts & Coffee is celebrating founder Stan Berman’s 86th birthday by offering up the shop's signature yeast-raised, glazed donuts for 86-cents as a one-day-only treat. Additionally, the first 100 guests will receive a free Stan’s 86th Birthday T-Shirt too! Saturday sours are 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Stan's Donuts & Coffee, 1560 N. Damen Ave.

Immerse in Ukrainian Culture:  The 32nd annual Ukrainian Days takes over West Town's Smith Park with all things Ukrainian, from food to fashion and cultural performances.  Visit the event's Facebook Page to stay updated. Smith Park, 2526 W. Grand Ave., running from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.

Pig Out on a Patio.  Division Ale House is celebrating its 6th year in business with a party featuring a Three Floyds tap takeover offering all-you-can-eat smoked meats (beef brisket, pulled pork and pulled chicken), and unlimited sides (slaw, German-style potato salad, corn).  A $30 ticket gets you all of the above, plus two draft beers, and one whiskey shot or cocktail. Noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Buy tickets here; Must be 21 to attend with a valid ID. Rain or shine event (seating available indoors).

Score Squash,  Learn to Make Tacos:  The Wicker Park Farmers Market keeps getting better every week, with a crepe and coffee stand, plus nearly 20 vendors (see the full list here) offering eggs and ham; local honey, bourbon-infused syrup, cheeses, fruits, vegetables, flowers and more. This Sunday, chefs from Antique Taco will give a demonstration too, on how to make tacos. Get there early for the best picks. From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., 1425 N. Damen Ave. in the park.

Party for Special Needs Animals: Bialy's Wellness Foundation, a charity started by Ukrainian Village resident Erin Kowalski, who helped a foster dog walk again after six months of rehab and massage therapy will celebrate with a party featuring a barbecue, food from Whisk, drink specials, music, raffles and a silent auction. Tickets cost $20 and can be bought here. The fundraiser runs from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Archie's Iowa Rockwell Tavern, 2600 W. Iowa St.

Welcome Red Hen Back, at Presidio:  Changing the fact there's nowhere to grab a healthy drink or bite by the Damen Avenue entrance/exit to The 606,  Presidio, which currently serves brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays, is introducing a new to-go option on Saturdays.  Pop by for pastries from Red Hen Bakery, which closed months ago, as well as a breakfast sandwich, Sparrow Roastery draft coffee, bottled water, and juices from Owen + Alchemy. Presidio, 1729 N. Damen Ave.
