Wrigley Field Was a Crazy Place to Be During Last Night's Storm

By Ariel Cheung | August 19, 2015 8:49am

WRIGLEY FIELD — It rained on the Cubs' parade last night — quite literally.

After wowing the city with a 15-of-16 winning streak, the Chicago Cubs must have settled their tab with either the goat or God. Whichever it was, he let the floodwaters cometh after a Sunday loss to the White Sox.

The Cubs vs. Tigers game was delayed around 8:15 p.m., just after the National Weather Service warned of strong thunderstorms approaching at 50 mph. The game resumed after a more than two-hour rain delay.

And that was probably a good call, because then this happened:

Fans bemoaned their fate and swore to stick it out as they were asked to seek shelter:

They also debated whether to weather the weather — wherever the restrooms were not.

But Snapchat kept us amused ...

And, if you were a teenage girl in 2003 and a Hilary Duff fan, you probably just ended up belting out this song:

LET THE RAIN FALL DOWN, AND WAKE MY DREAMS!

But by 10:30 p.m., things cleared up and the game was back on.

But it resumed way past our regularly scheduled bedtime, leaving some fans feeling the strain:
