WRIGLEY FIELD — It rained on the Cubs' parade last night — quite literally.
After wowing the city with a 15-of-16 winning streak, the Chicago Cubs must have settled their tab with either the goat or God. Whichever it was, he let the floodwaters cometh after a Sunday loss to the White Sox.
The Cubs vs. Tigers game was delayed around 8:15 p.m., just after the National Weather Service warned of strong thunderstorms approaching at 50 mph. The game resumed after a more than two-hour rain delay.
Home plate umpire Gerry Davis calls for the tarp. We're in a rain delay in the bottom of the 3rd. #Tigers 5, #Cubs 2.

And that was probably a good call, because then this happened:
Fans bemoaned their fate and swore to stick it out as they were asked to seek shelter:
Fans at Wrigley Field asked to seek shelter because of lightning in the area. #Cubs #Tigers

They also debated whether to weather the weather — wherever the restrooms were not.
What's worse? Enduring a t-storm at a baseball game or taking cover in the #WrigleyField bathrooms? Those poor people...

ABC7 News. People being moved into Wrigley Field washrooms for safety. Personally, I'd take my chances with the storm. #nasty

There were huddled masses, yearning to breathe free.

It was Bad News (Cubbie) Bears for anyone outside Wrigley, too.
But Snapchat kept us amused ...

And, if you were a teenage girl in 2003 and a Hilary Duff fan, you probably just ended up belting out this song:
LET THE RAIN FALL DOWN, AND WAKE MY DREAMS!
But by 10:30 p.m., things cleared up and the game was back on.
Live from Wrigley Field, it's dudes raking dirt! pic.twitter.com/IFq2YjZY1e
— Matt Lindner (@mattlindner) August 19, 2015
But it resumed way past our regularly scheduled bedtime, leaving some fans feeling the strain:
Damn 11 PM and it's the 4th inning at Wrigley field it be raw to there rn
