Stanley Cup Coming to Edison Park Today, Honoring John McDonough

CHICAGO — Edison Park native and Blackhawks President/CEO John McDonough will celebrate with the Stanley Cup and his old neighborhood during a free public rally Saturday.

According to the office of Ald. Anthony Napolitano (41st), the rally will begin at 1:30 p.m. along Northwest Highway between Oliphant Avenue and Ottawa Avenue.

The event will be emceed by Blackhawks public address announcer Gene Honda, and Hawks anthem singer Jim Cornelison will perform "The Star-Spangled Banner."

Northwest Highway between Oliphant and Ottawa will be closed during the event. Parking is limited, so the public is strongly encouraged to walk to the rally.

The event is subject to change and will be held if weather allows, according to Napolitano's office.

The Blackhawks have won the Stanley Cup three times in the past six seasons.
