People Robbed After Arranging Meetups on Social Network Skout: Police

CHICAGO — People are getting beat up and robbed after arranging meetups on a social networking platform, according to police.

In each incident, the victim arranged a meet up with a woman via Skout, which describes itself as "the world's largest network for meeting new people."

Instead of meeting with only the woman at the planned location, a group  of men with the woman end up beating up and robbing the victim.

Each incident involves five or six men, ages 18 to 30, along with the woman.

The incidents occurred at the following locations and times:

• 7900 block of South Calumet Avenue, July 30 at 5:30 p.m.

• 7900 block of South Prairie Avenue, July 30 at 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

• 7900 block of South Prairie Avenue, Aug. 12 at 9 p.m.
