CHICAGO — Hip hop artists Usher and T.I. stopped by a Harold's Chicken on a break from helping Chicago kids find jobs.

Usher posted a photo of him and T.I. — known for hits like "Whatever You Like" and "Bring Em Out" — in front of a Harold's Chicken, 914 W. 87th St. in Auburn Gresham. The post garnered more than 172,000 "likes" and was shared almost 9,300 times, with posters saying they wanted to kidnap Usher so they could have him for Christmas, thanking him for doing good work and welcoming him to Chicago. They also advised him to be careful about which Harold's he stopped by.

Usher was in Chicago to speak for the 100k Opportunities Initiative, a coalition of U.S. companies that seek to hire at least 100,000 young people by 2018, at its launch event Thursday. Usher posted that he was feeling "#Inspired" after speaking at the event with artists Common and Vic Mensa.

The event paired young people from the area with job opportunities, and attendees could learn job skills at workshops. It "will spur long-term engagement, which will help participating companies hire thousands of youth in the Chicago area over the next 18 months," according to a news release from the initiative.

More than 3,000 people were expected to attend the event and hear from the speakers, according to the initiative.
