LINCOLN PARK — Celebrate the beginning of fall by getting some exercise while supporting a good cause.

Registration is now open for SEA Blue's annual 5K walk/run, which was designed to help fund prostate cancer education and support services. It's a partnership between nonprofit organization Us Too International and UroPartners.

Now in its 11th year, the event will be held Sept. 13 from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. in Lincoln Park, at LaSalle Street and Stockton Drive on the lakefront.

“This event was founded 10 years ago by three volunteers who wanted to raise awareness for prostate cancer and recognize it as a serious disease — the second leading cancer killer of men following lung cancer,” said Us Too president and chief executive officer Thomas Kirk in a news release.

On-site registration begins at 9 a.m., with the race starting at 10:15 a.m. Throughout the day, there will be educational sessions and physician presentations, free PSA testing and free lunch, drinks and snacks. Don't miss the entertainment, including a performance by the Jesse White Tumblers, a DJ and live music, or the "Family Fun Zone," where kids can get their faces painted or temporary tattoos, among other activities.

Registration costs $45 for adults, $20 for kids 7-17 and is free for children 6 and under. To register, and for more information, visit the event's website.
