NEAR WEST SIDE — The Near West Police Station will host a car show on National Night Out Tuesday night.

The National Night Out Car Show, sponsored by the Near West Police District, will bring Near West Side families together in a stand against violence from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday in the station's parking lot, 1412 S. Blue Island Ave.

Car judging will take place at 7 p.m.

The event will also feature live music, food and refreshments and other fun.

National Night Out, held the first Tuesday in August across the country, promotes partnerships between the police and community to make neighborhoods safer, better places to live.
