RAVENSWOOD — Right or wrong, opera has a reputation for being one of the more highfalutin' art forms.

Opera on Tap sticks a pin in that image, bringing classical music to casual neighborhood settings at an affordable price.

Thursday through Saturday, the troupe of up-and-coming singers will set up shop not at an opera house or gilded auditorium, but Ravenswood Presbyterian Church, 4300 N. Hermitage Ave.

The production, "Shadows, Stories, and Songs," features two one-act musical works sung in Spanish with English subtitles.

Tickets are available for purchase online. Admission is free for children 10 and under, $20 for adults or $15 for students/military. Thursday's show is pay what you can, with a minimum of $1.

All performances start at 7 p.m.
