EDISON PARK — Lace up those running shoes, Edison Park residents.

The Edison Park Community Council will host a family walk from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday that will begin and at Brooks Park, 7100 N. Harlem Ave.

The free event is designed to give residents a chance to get together while being active, organizers said.

After the walk, participants can take a load off and listen to a concert in the park from 4 to 8 p.m. by Summer Son, which plays "feel-good country music," according to the band's Facebook page.

Bounce houses will keep children occupied, and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, coolers and picnic dinners to the concert, organizers said.
