EAST LAKEVIEW — With competition like Whole Foods and Mariano's closing in on Lakeview, one Jewel-Osco store is upgrading its fresh and gourmet offerings this fall.
The supermarket at 3531 N. Broadway is expected to undergo renovations starting in mid-September and finishing in November. The store will remain open during the remodel.
Plans for the remodel include a new salad bar, decor and gourmet bakery selection. The Jewel-Osco will also expand its refrigerated produce, sushi, cold beer and customer service.
Seven other Jewel-Osco stores are expected to undergo renovations this year, in addition to four stores that have already been completed. The Lakeview market is the only city Jewel-Osco to make the list.
