NORTH CENTER — Timber Lanes has undoubtedly been the scene of many a dramatic performance over the years, but this time it's planned.

The theater troupe Nothing Without a Company is mounting "Crash Landing," a pop-up festival of six short plays, at the bowling alley on Friday. No preview of the works is available because, adding a further twist to the already unusual proceedings, each of the 10-minute plays will have been written, rehearsed and ultimately performed in fewer than 24 hours.

"You have never seen this space used in this way," artistic director Anna Rose promised.

The show gets under way at 9 p.m., 1851 W. Irving Park Road. Stick around afterward and bowl until 2 a.m.

Tickets are $30 for general admission (including bowling) or $15 for students/industry and can be purchased in advance online or at the door.
