BUCKTOWN —  For literary types looking for something to do after work and before Pitchfork, the Cleveland, Ohio-based Rust Belt will be hosting a Happy Hour on Friday to introduce local editors, writers and book lovers to the magazine and its printed anthologies.

An independent online magazine providing in-depth coverage of issues in the Rust Belt region — including poverty, redevelopment, housing, police brutality, manufacturing, economics, urbanism and race — the "Rust Belt Happy Hour" is set for 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia Ave.

The free event, open to the public, is sponsored by Argus Brewery. Guest DJ Bobby Conn will be at the turntables, spinning music inspired by the Rust Belt.

Belt books, such as "Car Bombs to Cookie Tables" and anthologies will be for sale.

Founded in 2012, Rust Belt, a member-supported effort, publishes a new story each weekday morning  on topics of cultural, societal, political and historical interest. For updates, follow Belt on Twitter, @belt_magazine or Facebook.
