WRIGLEYVILLE — Ahead of a Fitz and the Tantrums concert Friday, Wrigley Field will test sound levels on Thursday in an attempt to lessen the disturbance to neighbors.

The afternoon technical rehearsal and sound testing will be brief, but could be heard around the ballpark, the Chicago Cubs said Thursday.

The Friday concert will follow the 3:05 p.m. game against the Chicago White Sox and last about 75 minutes. The concert, free to all game attendees, should conclude before dark, the team said.

Sound levels at Wrigley Field have plagued Wrigleyville neighbors this season, although changes shortly after Opening Day lessened the impact. Neighbors with questions can email neighbors@cubs.com.

The Cubs and Wrigley Field are 95 percent owned by a trust established for the benefit of the family of Joe Ricketts, owner and CEO of DNAinfo.com. Joe Ricketts has no direct involvement in the management of the iconic team.
